Protest The Hero

Protest The Hero es una banda canadiense, representante de la rama mas tecnica del metalcore, el mathcore. La banda se formo en 1999, y entonces tenian un nombre y un estilo musical diferente, mas cercano al hardcore punk practicado por bandas como propagandhi, y manteniendo tambien la critica social.
Inicialmente lanzan dos trabajos: Search for the truth y A calculated use of sound, el primero con un sonido hardcore punk, y el segundo experimentado con el post hardcore en un sentido melodico.
Finalmente sale a luz su primer disco "Kezia", un disco conceptual, en el cual adoptan el metalcore como base principal, para experimentar con el, agregando riffs complicados en sus canciones muy bien estructuradas, manteniendo aun el sentido critico de sus composiciones interpretadas por una voz melodica acorde al mathcore.
El siguiente disco Fortress es aun mas complejo, mantienen el metalcore agregando elementos del trash metal y del heavy metal, de lejos el disco mas metalero de PTH.
Y hace poco tiempo lanzaron un disco en vivo, que ademas trae un DVD, para poder apreciar el grado musical de la banda en vivo.
